A proud and loyal Jersey Girl, Maya grew up in North Brunswick Township of New Jersey, where Maya was immersed in civic engagement and service since a very young age. In the third grade, Maya served in the Girl Scouts of the USA, where she served until the eighth grade, being awarded over 50+ badges. Maya was also recognized for achievements by receiving the Gold Award for your extraordinary endeavors. Additionally, her troop, Troop #551, won an all expense-paid trip to Disney World within the Millennium Dreamers Sweepstakers in the third grade for an essay of her commitment to service. Service projects included serving the homeless in her community, amongst other service projects.
Maya continued by serving as the President of the Environmental Club with North Brunswick Township High School, volunteered with the Veterans Administration Hospital for four consecutive years, and more.
This was the start of Maya’s journey of community service.

Being active at her home church, First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, in Somerset, New Jersey, under Pastor DeForest B. Soaries, Jr.,
Maya served actively since a youth at her home church, as her parents taught her the importance of service and keeping God first.
Maya has served as a Sunday School Teacher, Volunteer for DayCare, Speaker to High School Students, Young Adult Ministry Leader, After School Tutor, Covenant House, American Red Cross, to supporting with community projects in the community.
Having friends of different races, gender, religions and more at an early age, Maya had a sensitivity to go beyond the church to affect all.
Today, Maya evangelizes via social media, through community service, in person, and beyond the church pulpit.

With a MBA in Management from Howard University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Spelman College, Maya has a very unique combination of being both a go getter, "out of the box" thinker with an analytical mindset. Maya is a passionate and tenacious leader providing this as being awarded as a Miss Black New Jersey USA of the Miss Black USA Organization - her first ever pageant.
With over 10 years of independent business development, consulting and sales experience, Maya loves working with people and businesses while bringing them to the next level of success. Maya brings a diverse portfolio and wealth of knowledge from consulting with projects ranging from restaurants, non profits, commercial businesses to working for Fortune 100 C-Suite of both the private and public sectors. Additionally, being an expert in event management, Maya has led numerous campaigns for promoting recognizable companies, resulting in increased sales and profits.
Maya has consulted with over well known companies including but not limited to:
Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, U.S. Department of Energy, DuPont, Ethics & Compliance Initiative, UniqueSoft (Shanghai based firm), Yorkville Common Pantry, Miller Lite, ESSENCE, National Urban League, Horizon NJ Health, New Common Pantry, amongst others.
