Some might think the term "aggressive Christian" is an oxymoron. It has been preconceived that Christians are passive, tree hugging people. That is partly true as we are tree hugging and appreciate the earth, have a meek, humble nature, but we surely are not passive. I'm here today to tell you to be aggressive, B-E AGGRESSIVE!
The hip hop Christian rapper, D.A. T.R.U.T.H. said it best in his song Man Up:
" Christ is not a hippie picking lilies with his friends/ Jesus was a man's man/ So men followed Him/ Doing God the Father's will/ Saying Father I will send".
Don't forget Jesus flipped tables. Also, remember that David severed the head and spoke that he would during the time of fighting against Goliath. Also, in order to be effective Christians we have to be aggressive - in our thoughts, prayers and actions. We cannot be idle and allow negative thoughts to take hold and allow the mountain to take control. You have to be aggressive and speak against it.
Everything from the world is a duplicate of the kingdom of God. Gangsta mentality is a mock of the original OG, Jesus Christ. Dont get it twisted. Jesus was not a passive person. Yes, he carried the fruit of the spirit but stood up for being a Christian.
Also, it's we have even more pressure when you are aggressive as a young Black Christian woman who knows who and who's she is. Today, I was called "too aggressive" for simply asking upfront questions and being confident in my ability to excel. I did not back down nor change who I was as a Salesperson. Never compromise or water down who you are - be strong, confident and unapologetic ally aggressive while submitting to Christ.
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. ~ 2 Timothy 1:7
The scripture even said that God didnt give us a spirit of timidity! Of course, you shouldn't be arrogant, haughty or prideful, but CONFIDENCE is different. As Demi Lovato said in her hit song, Confidence, "what's wrong with being confident?". If you ain't controversial ,misunderstood or a threat in any way, you ain't aggressively Christian enough.
We need more aggressive, radical Christians today.
Stop trying to fit in something you are obviously too excellent for, dulling down your light. If they don't accept you, be cool and know you are on the road for greatness.
