Even When It Hurts

"Even when the fight seems lost, even when it hurts like Hell, even when it makes no sense, I will only sing your praise". Agreeing with the description that this is not in the category of a new-traditional happy, clappy Sunday song, I was drawn to the message and the strength of the passion of how the lead singer, Taya Smith sings it with such heart shining through the song.
Going through a recent unexpected twist of events including a contract loss, my grandmother passing, not knowing what's to come, and scrambling to pick up the pieces, all I could do is praise the Lord through it. It's easy to give praise when everything goes well but when everything comes crashing down and your in a series of storms, that's the true test. You must remember that God gives you double for your trouble (Isaiah 61:7), and ALL things work together for His glory (Romans 8:28).
As Reverend Tammy Smith announced in the euology, there is a time to mourn but we should be praising knowing it's for the best. My grandmother is no longer experiencing pain and in Heaven (as she was a servant), I was removed from a toxic work culture with better offers coming through, and MUCH BETTER people in my life. Things will be birth from this and have already!
It's no coincidence that the next song in the lineup was "Every Praise" from Hezekiah Walker. EVERY PRAISE must be to the Lord, even when it hurts. That truly gives God praise that you can praise him in the creveseces of the valley as well as the mountain top. If you are in a season of the valley, whether you got there, the enemy or a God given route, know that it will all work if you remain faithful and keep your walk blameless (Psalm 119:1). Stay in hope, keep it pushin and praise the Lord even when it hurts.
